Title: Equiping the saints with
Answers
(NLT - 1 Timothy 2:1 I urge you,
first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede
on their behalf, and give thanks for them.)
1. Question: Who is Yeshua?
Colossians 1:15-20 NLT
Christ Is Supreme
15 Christ is the visible
image of the invisible God.
He
existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,
16 for through him God
created everything
in
the heavenly realms and on earth.
He made the things we can see
and
the things we can’t see—
such as thrones, kingdoms,
rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.
Everything
was created through him and for him.
17 He existed before
anything else,
and
he holds all creation together.
18 Christ is also the
head of the church,
which
is his body.
He is the beginning,
supreme
over all who rise from the dead.
So he
is first in everything.
19 For God in all his
fullness
was
pleased to live in Christ,
20 and through him God
reconciled
everything
to himself.
He made peace with everything
in heaven and on earth
by
means of Christ’s blood on the cross.
2. Question: Why are we, the
Church, here?
Ephesians 3:9-10
I was chosen to explain to
everyone this mysterious plan that God, the Creator of all things, had
kept secret from the beginning. 10 God's purpose in all this was to use
the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen
rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. 11 This was his eternal
plan...
3. Question: What is your
purpose/goal?
Isaiah 43:7 Bring all who
claim me as their God, for I have made them for my glory. It was I who
created them.
John 17:4 I brought glory to
you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.
1 Corinthians 10:31 So
whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the
glory of God.
4. Question: What is our
group goal?
Malachi 3:16 (13-16)
13 “You have said
terrible things about me,” says the Lord.
“But you say, ‘What do you
mean? What have we said against you?’ 14 “You have said, ‘What’s
the use of serving God? What have we gained by obeying his commands or
by trying to show the Lord of Heaven’s Armies that we are
sorry for our sins? 15 From now on we will call the arrogant
blessed. For those who do evil get rich, and those who dare God to
punish them suffer no harm.’”
16 Then those who feared
the Lord spoke with each other, and
the Lord listened to what they said. In his presence, a
scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who
feared him and always thought about the honor of his name.
5: Question: What does
Yahweh want?
Absolute Holiness
Ezekiel 43:12 And this is the
basic law of the Temple: absolute holiness! The entire top of the
mountain where the Temple is built is holy. Yes, this is the basic law
of the Temple.
(ref Exodus 19) Hebrews 12:
22-28
18 You have not come to
a physical mountain,[h] to a place of flaming fire, darkness,
gloom, and whirlwind, as the Israelites did at Mount
Sinai. 19 For they heard an awesome trumpet blast and a voice
so terrible that they begged God to stop speaking. 20 They
staggered back under God’s command: “If even an animal touches the
mountain, it must be stoned to death.”[i] 21 Moses himself
was so frightened at the sight that he said, “I am terrified and
trembling.”[j]
22 No, you have come to
Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and
to countless thousands of angels in a joyful
gathering. 23 You have come to the assembly of God’s
firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to
God himself, who is the judge over all things. You have come to the
spirits of the righteous ones in heaven who have now been made
perfect. 24 You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the
new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which
speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the
blood of Abel.
25 Be careful that you
do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking. For if the people
of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the
earthly messenger, we will certainly not escape if we reject the One
who speaks to us from heaven! 26 When God spoke from Mount
Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise:
“Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens
also.” 27 This means that all of creation will be shaken and
removed, so that only unshakable things will remain.
28 Since we are
receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please
God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.
